Lindsay Rewcastle, Chairman
Lindsay brings a unique mix of entrepreneurial experience and technical skills to his role as Chairman of Ceiba Solutions. The two previous companies he co-founded grew to over 300 people. CIMDEC Systems, formed in 1991, is now part of Business & Decision Group, and Supply Chain Consulting, which he created in 1997, is now part of Fujitsu. In 1988, Lindsay designed the manufacturing modules of the Promix software, one of the first ERP systems specifically meant for the process industries. Now known as Ross ERP, it has generated revenue of over US$1billion and is still being sold today by CDC Software. In December 2009, the China Software Industry Association recognized Ross ERP as the “Best ERP Solution in the Processing Industry.” This success led to the life science industry software market, where Lindsay’s background in Biochemistry, his experience of dealing with validation and the FDA, plus his software design expertise and ability to build a team of professionals, has brought Ceiba to the position it is in today, a trusted advisor and software developer for some of the world’s major biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Lindsay holds degrees in Biochemistry and Industrial Management, with particular emphasis on food and beverage processes, with his early career spent in industrial engineering. Guided by his many experiences in software design, his background in the life science and process manufacturing industries, coupled with his 20 years as a CEO of international software companies, Ceiba is well on its way to being a worldwide success.
Malcolm Bohm, Chief Executive Officer
Malcolm is a recognized expert in Life Sciences with a proven track record throughout all phases of drug development, and a unique breadth of clinical research experience in the pharmaceutical industry. In the industry since 1993, Malcolm served in increasingly senior positions at major pharmaceutical companies including Astra, Pfizer, and Novartis. He also started a successful biotech firm, Aspreva Pharmaceuticals. Several of the projects he led resulted in product launches including drugs for cardiovascular disease, urology, and women’s health. Malcolm is also well versed in the deployment of software for biotech and pharmaceutical companies. In 2006 he created Trialytics, an industry leader in leveraging electronic healthcare data to redefine clinical R&D strategies. He took Trialytics from start-up to a multi-million company, merging with and then selling the company to SDIHealth Inc (SDI). Malcolm was educated in Great Britain and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology and a Master of Medical Sciences degree in Renal Physiology and Pharmacology along with advanced training in analytical data modeling. Malcolm operates from our west coast USA operation in La Jolla, CA.
Tom Arneman, Vice President, Life Science Sales
Tom has spent his career identifying and implementing IT best practices in the Life Sciences. He has been instrumental in helping companies improve their data management systems, connect with a diverse array of partners, and streamline their business processes. His background as an Industrial Engineer and IT Strategist, coupled with his supply chain consulting and managerial experience allow him to provide Ceiba Solutions and its customers with a real world perspective on how to define and solve problems. Tom, working in the Boston area, and at the Ceiba Solutions HQ in Cambridge, is currently implementing Ceiba’s vision of making technology affordable, accessible, and easy to use for Life Science customers.
Andy Sontag, Vice President, Life Science Services
Andy has worked in the Life Sciences for over 20 years, with executive positions in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, covering a variety of disciplines that include technology, clinical, delivery and operations leadership. Most recently, Andy served as Senior Vice President of Life Sciences for Court Square Group, a Life Sciences IT Consulting and Services Company. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Global Business Operations for Clinical Sciences at Boston Scientific with overall responsibility for running clinical trials operations including Outsourcing, Clinical and Financial Operations, Clinical and Preclinical Quality, and Technology. Andy also worked for over 14 years at AstraZeneca where he implemented over eighty application systems for drug development, clinical, quality, supply chain, finance, distribution and regulatory compliance including leading AstraZeneca’s US SAP implementation. Andy holds a Master in Business from Nichols College and resides in West Boylston, Massachusetts,
Jamie Wilkes, Chief Technology Officer
With over 20 years experience with successful international software ventures, Jamie has designed and managed the development of Ceiba’s software products, as well as its innovative IT solutions in the life science industry. Jamie also leads the development of the Ceiba Life Science Dashboard, an industry-driven, next-generation business intelligence system. This is a project being invested in by the New Zealand Government Foundation for Research, Science and Technology. Jamie’s primary work location is in Wellington, New Zealand, the country which serves as home to the Ceiba Life Science Development Team.
Tom Wondra, Vice President of Product Development
Tom brings a solid blend of supply chain and manufacturing consulting experience to his work at Ceiba Solutions. He is ITIL certified, and has spent his career in numerous IT and consulting roles. He has hands-on experience in process industries that include chemicals, paint, life sciences, food & beverage and metals. Tom has been instrumental in establishing Ceiba’s Managed Services business, which today supports a number of Ceiba’s Life Science customers. Now leading Ceiba’s agile software methodology and consulting services, he is responsible for an integral part of Ceiba’s software development business. Tom has a Degree in Computer Science, with a business emphasis, from Minnesota State University and currently lives with his family just outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Tim Bonnert, Ph.D., Director of Applied Science
Tim Bonnert is the former Director of Applied Science at Rosetta Biosoftware, and is based in the UK. Dr. Bonnert received his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge and spent two years as a Post Doctoral Fellow at Immunex Corporation in Seattle. Tim brings to Ceiba Solutions more than 10 years of pharmaceutical research experience in molecular biology, bioinformatics, and biomarker discovery using a range of molecular profiling techniques, and has co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed papers. He provides invaluable guidance to Life Science customers who value his views on strategies for translational informatics.
